Musical Fidelity MX-VYNL Phono Preamplifier

Up for sale is a Musical Fidelity phono preamplifier. Here's how the manufacturer describes it:

"The MX-VYNL is a very high performance, fully balanced, highly accurate phono MM/MC cartridge amplifier in a beautifully designed and executed casework.

"The unit features two completely separate, independently selectable cartridge inputs, balanced as well as single ended. This allows choice between two different turntables if required. Selectable gain is provided to allow for different cartridge sensitivities and to suit any equipment. Cartridge type and loading is selected by front selector wheel for optimum cartridge performance."

The unit is brand new, never been used. I only took it out of the box to take pictures of it. From the reviews I read prior to its purchase, it is an excellent value at its price point, with sound quality similar to phono preamps twice its price. A web search for "dual RCA to 5-pin mini-XLR MX-VYNL" will turn up sources for obtaining a balanced-line signal from the turntable to the preamp, but you would have to use a moving-coil phono cartridge. I had purchased it in anticipation of using its balanced-line outputs in a home theatre system I was designing, but that project fell through (delusions of grandeur, I suppose). Rather than have it sit on a shelf and gather dust, I decided to sell it, let someone else get some use out of it, and get some of my money back in the bargain Pick it up today!
