I got this 1941 (one year only) 6.5 inch snare back in 2015. The calf skin heads were shot and ultimately replaced with two different thickness Strata 1000 heads. This was ideal.... It has great tone and I didn't change anything else. Drums like this have generally sounded best with the original 12 wire snare wires and string. Other than the change of heads, the drum is as acquired. Clips are gold color and also appear later. Really clean but not perfect eighty-three-year-old snare. I bought it from the family of the original Arizona owner.

Likely will not decline in price as would a new equivalent. Donno, how much it is worth.... Make an offer??

Answer to questions: The finish is original. It could be the FAKE gold that Ludwig used on high end drums, No hidden dents or extra holes. Throw works well. I didn't play it much but only tuned it ...It is a cannon!

Rims appear to be steel with nice nickel plating. No extra holes.
