Music Man 1979 Pre-Ernie Ball Sabre bass with active electronics.

All original except for professionally repainted metallic blue, new WD pickguard, and new Stingray-style bridge (came without original bridge). Tuners, pickups and electronics work perfectly.

The pickup setup gives you an endless number of tone variations which I find quite limited in a Stingray. This bass can sound like anything. Neck is amazingly straight, and it sustains forever. Original brass nut. Truss rod works fine. String tree is original but strap buttons are new nickel plated (old ones included). It's strung with new Fender extra-light nickel plated round wounds.

I can't say enough about how good this guitar plays and sounds. It's rather light too and balances well. Minimal fret wear for age, definitely nothing that affects playing. Nut width appears to be 1-3/4" - very comfortable C shape.

Comes with original hard shell case (bit shorter than a Fender case due to shorter headstock) that is beat up outside but structurally fine but latches and hinges still work (one latch is a bit sticky). Inside looks very good as you can see. It's missing one pickup screw which I have been unable to find a replacement for, the long skinny one. Pickup is still stable and doesn't affect play at all.
