This limited edition snare was released in 2009 to commemorate the 100th Anniversary of the Ludwig drum company and the legacy of rock drumming mega legend, Alex Van Halen. Ludwig built this drum with 15 plies of rare Honduran Santos Rosewood, inspired by Alex's early Tama rosewood snare that can be heard on countless Van Halen recordings.
Only 100 of this model were ever produced and sold out immediately, making it an instant collectors item. It remains one of the rarest and in demand limited edition signature models Ludwig has ever produced. This drum is # 52 of 100.
Each drum is numbered and hand signed by Alex Van Halen.
This drum is in mint condition. It includes the original Ludwig shipping box plus the original unplayed Ludwig logo batter head.
