Kenny Aronoff's Ludwig - No. 400 Super-Ludwig 5x14" 10-Lug Brass Snare Drum with Keystone Badge 1960 - 1963 - Chrome Over Brass, Signed Head!
Another amazing COB Supra-Phonic snare drum at Donn Bennett's Drum Vault.
Kenny Aronoff is one the most prolific, versatile and in demand drummers to have ever laid a stick on a drum. In his remarkable career spanning five decades he's amassed a staggering discography of hit recordings. At the heart of every one of those recordings is Kenny's unmistakable snare drum sound. This is the drum that helped create his signature “wide open” snare sound which in turn influenced the way drums were recorded ever since. It is also the drum that inspired Aronoff’s Tama signature model “Trackmaster” snare drum.
Kenny Aronoff played this Ludwig chrome over brass Supraphonic 400 snare drum on a long list of recordings between 1983 and 1997 including John Mellencamp’s Lonesome Jubilee, Big Daddy and Uh-Huh. Also recordings with Bob Dylan, The Bodeans and many more.
Acquired directly from Aronoff in 1996. Head is signed and includes COA signed by Kenny Aronoff. Pre-serial #. Fully documented. Includes vintage early 1960s Ludwig red velvet lined case.
The drum is in fantastic condition. No notable issues. The photos tell it like it is. Original brass hoops top and bottom, red felt muffler.
