Standel 420-CV Custom Mid 1960’s - Cherry

Amazing vintage and rare Standel semi homebody electric guitar. Much like the Gibson 335 this guitar serves all musical styles. This Model is the 420 CV. C is for Cherry. The “V” indicates “Vibrato” the original tremolo bridge, What makes this Sam Koontz created masterpiece all the more special is not only is it the rare cherry color and has the trem bridge and that it has narrow neck and great tone but it has the custom horn knob master volume control normally found only in the top of the line 520. This was ordered custom from the factory because the unlike the 520, which has the master knob on the bottom horn, this 420 has the knob on the upper horn. It may be the only one of its kind. Vintage DeArmond pick ups for that epic sound. Wow! I’m the 4th owner. The original owner played this as his regular axe for 40 years as you can see by the multi layer deep buckle rash on the back. But don’t worry, the wear has no effect on the sound (which is dark and amazing), the playability (because it plays like butter with the small J200 style neck) but you never see the wear since it’s on the back! And how do you know a great guitar? It’s been played!
