With the Epiphone Flying V Prophecy Aged Jet Black Metallic, Epiphone combines the iconic V design from 1958 with modern sounds and features. In addition to its double humbucker configuration with Fishman Fluence Prophecy humbuckers specially developed for the Prophecy series and switchable voicings, the Flying V Prophecy offers a resonant and road-ready hardware configuration in a uniform brushed nickel finish.
'58 Flying V with Flame Maple VeneerThe body design of the Prophecy Flying V follows the traditional shaping of the legendary 1958 Flying V and is made of solid mahogany wood. The body is finished with AAA-quality maple veneer, whose intense grain is a real visual treat. The mahogany neck with asymmetrical slim taper shaping, on the other hand, provides a classic feel. Its slight offset shape offers the right thumb rest for bendings and controlled fretting on the 24-fret ebony fretboard.
Versatile Fishman Fluence Prophecy HumbuckerThe groundbreaking Fishman Fluence design is also used in the Flying V Prophecy and takes the tonal possibilities of conventional humbuckers to a whole new level. Both pickups offer two different voicings, allowing you to call up coveted PAF sounds for classic rock and Blues, or to call up the tight and powerful sounds of modern metal in modern mode. If you are looking for additional clarity, you can switch to Coil Split mode via the push/pull controls to create airy and attack-rich sounds of the single coil.
Solid LockTone Hardware and Grover tunersEpiphone relies on a classic TOM/stopbar combination in the form of a LockTone Tune-o-Matic bridge with matching LockTone stopbar for absolute adjustability of intonation and string action as well as direct resonance transmission into the body. In addition, the six Grover Rotomatic tuners on the headstock offer a backlocking function, making string changes extremely quick and ensuring reliable tuning stability from the first notes played thanks to fewer axle windings. All attachments of the Flying V Prophecy come in a uniform brushed nickel finish.
