Michael Kelly, the "boutique within reach" guitar brand, introduces the Hybrid Special guitar with your choice of an exotic ziricote or spalted maple wood top, expanding its popular Hybrid Series. This instrument is designed for players seeking both acoustic and electric guitar sounds in a single instrument.
The innovative design of the Hybrid Special allows guitarists to quickly switch from fully-voiced electric guitar tones to rich acoustic sounds. Thin and lightweight, the semi-hollow body provides acoustic resonance while delivering a sweet, clear tone. Featuring a chambered mahogany body and exotic ziricote or spalted maple wood top, this versatile instrument uses a Fishman under-saddle pickup with a Fishman Powerchip preamp for capturing warm and natural acoustic tones. Hybrid Special guitars are also equipped with two custom voiced Rockfield SWC humbucker pickups with coil splitting to expand the tonal options. The electric and acoustic signals are combined when using a standard guitar cable, or separated via a Y-cable to deliver isolated signals to electric or acoustic amplifiers for maximum sonic impact.
