Unique & Rare Circa1970 Fender 400 PS Amp in very very good condition.

Please 🙏 folks, I am getting pretty desperate. I have to get some money soon or my life will take a turn for the absolute worst.

If you are watching this item in hope that it will drop down to really really low price, I am sorry but that will not happen.

I rescued this collectable from immediate destruction and I had hoped it was a blessing that I should be saved from ruin and pass this on to good home, that might enjoy the power of it. As often is the case, I am being foolish.

One tear in vinyl (see picture, pretty easy repair) and only very light signs of wear.

2 input Bass channel with Volume, Treble, Bass, and a "Deep" switch, but also has a 2 input "Normal" channel with Volume, Treble, Middle, Bass, Reverb, and Speed/Intensity for Tremelo, and a "Bright" switch.

IMPORTANT - AMP ONLY FOR SALE. NO SPEAKER CABINET. PICTURE OF CABINET WAS PART OF ORIGINAL FENDER SET

3 independent 4Ohm outputs rated at 145W each, requires 3 cabinets to perform at maximum power, or a custom cab with 3 inputs, and your choice of types of speaker.
For example, 3 - 18" 4Ohm speakers, each with its own signal input, or 6 -12" 8Ohm, 3 pairs w/an input for each pair, wired in parallel. Choice of speakers depends on what you want to do with it.
Unique design allows use of any output without danger of overload, functions much the same as "3 amps in a single cabinet". Each output utilizes 2 of the 6 power tubes.

I suspect it was being used by a DJ to power mains, like a PA amp.
Tested with a single big Marshall 4 - 12" w/4Ohm input, sounds great with Bass or Guitar. Super powerful low end if used for keyboards, no distortion, built to handle whatever comes in the inputs.

All Inputs/Outputs, adjustments checked for function

Not able to test Vibrato (peculiar 1/8 RCA for Reverb/Vibrato pedal), Power Balance Preamp & Output Tubes Matching adjustments. As with any older tube amp, a thorough QC by a trusted and experienced tech is recommended.

Originally paired by Fender with a single 18" folded cabinet design (see the picture) and required 3 OF THEM to be at maximum wattage.

It is a rare piece of Americana. Circa 1970, it is the Amp equivalent of a 1970 muscle car like a Chevy SS, or Dodge RT.
Truly a beast, weighs a whopping 84Lbs and dimensions are 11½” x 28” x 12¾”

It has a wonderful clean Fender tone, distortion on Normal channel using Channel Volume and Master Volume below 8, and convenient Power Balance Preamp & Output Tubes Matching adjustments

It would be merciless if used with modern amp modeling for a guitar.

I have fallen on hard times and need to sell this right away. I have sold many of my other items, and this and a Gibson Explorer 2 (also listed) are about all I have left of any real value.
