Alembic F-2B Stereo Tube Preamp Late 1970s early 80s build. Been in storage for 30 plus years.
This unit came from a long defunct small recording studio, so I do not know what the power supply modification was meant to achieve, but the unit is fully functional as shown. All inputs and outputs tested good. The pots are a bit scratchy but relatively good for an amp this old.
The power supply has been modified as indicated by the extra two internally mounted transformers. The factory transformer is still being used for the tube heaters and the two added transformers are for the B+ voltage. The 125v output of the factory transformer (cut and heat shrunk red leads) reads 106 volts. Probably could be easily reverted back to the original design but it actually sounds pretty good as is. Both tubes are 12AX7s.
