Jesselli Sound Lenz Circa 1988 - Blonde. Mini Hum + Piezo.

Available is a rare and early Jesselli Guitars Sound Lenz model built around 1988. Those who know of Joe's guitars, know he was D'Aquisto's in-house apprentice for the last 10 years of Jimmy's career. His instruments are prized possessions of somer of the worlds most recognized guitarists such as Keith Richards who owns four custom Jesselli's.

This fully hollow, 14" lower bout build features a highly figured Maple top and body. The top is flat, with the back being fully and intricately carved. The guitar features a Duncan mini humbucker and a piezo bridge. The controls are volume, 16 position tone for neck mini hum and piezo blend. You can achieve a plethora of gorgeous tones from sweet Jazz to Rock and Roll or Blues and even pull off a pseudo acoustic flat-top tone.

The guitars scale is 25.5" with a 1 11/16" nut width. The fingerboard, bridge, tailpice, heel cap and headstock veneer are all high-grade Macassar Ebony. The body and neck feature nitrate binding with an intricate purfling design around the Jesselli inlaid headstock. The fingerboard features silicon bronze self lubricatig frets and 1/4" thick MOP deco inlays with black side markers.

Just professionally setup by Fiam guitars, this Jesselli shows its age but plays and sounds like a dream with clean and full frets. The leather pickup cover shows somewhat of a patina and scuffing. The Sound Lenz design projects beautifully and allows the guitar to be played loudly without excess feedback. The zero fret gives the neck a uniform, low and comfortable action all the way up the Ebony fingerboard.

The guitar was missing its truss rod cover. A new one has been made to cover the hole. The knobs are also worth a mention, as the first two were cast by Joe Jesselli himself the tone control was bought by Joe and all gold plating was done by Joe Jesselli as well.

Overall this is a stunning piece of history by one of the worlds most unique and inspiring Luthiers. Joe is no longer building at this time. So if you've been looking for one of his instruments this is a great and rare opportunity.
