Here is a rare early 60's Ludwig set - a "New Yorker" outfit finished in its original Black Galaxy Sparkle wrap! The New Yorker is sized 12x22", 8x12", and 16x16" - fit for a New York taxi cab, the bass drum has a little less depth and a little more direct response. We're big fans of the 12" depth; they always sounds excellent!
These drums are in good player grade condition. The chrome has a good shine to it, but there is light pitting consistently throughout the set with no flaking and the occasional rust pocket, notably on the rail consolette. No lifting or cracks in this wrap, but there are some cosmetic scuffs on the 8x12" facing the player, undoubtedly from rubbing against the snare. I've pictured it in direct light to show them better, but from most angles beyond a few feet these blemishes are hard to notice. Interiors and bearing edges on this set are in nice shape - cosmetically they have some wear, but the bearing edges are smooth. The bass drum hoops have had some of their wear disguised with black marker. We can refresh the hoops for a surcharge, just let us know before checkout. The New Yorker is always an excellent sounding outfit and we hope we get to do a video demo before they're gone - stay tuned. Sizes/Serial numbers below - the 22" and 12" have very low 4-digit serial numbers!
12x22" - Serial #: 1683
8x12" - Serial #: 1643
16x16" - Serial #: 90220
