For your consideration, we present a vintage "player-grade" example of the Working-Man's all-mahogany dreadnought.

Guild introduced the D-25 and D-35 to their dreadnought lineup in 1968, with the D-25 as an all-mahogany instrument and the D-35 as a Spruce-topped mahogany instrument. These instruments set aside the lavish appointments of their cousin, the D-55, and instead focused on warm tones, playability, and a more-budget-friendly pricepoint. This full-sized dread utilizes Rosewood for the fingerboard and bridge instead of ebony and has more-simplified inlays, binding, purfling, and headstock ornamentation. With its spartan appearance at the forefront, the D-25 and D-35 were a favorite amongst singer/songwiters and bluegrassers alike and has since carved its own niche as a weapon-of-choice amongst players seeking the warmest, purest mahogany tone magic.

This instrument is in Very Good "Player's Grade" condition, showing signs of moderate playwear, moderate-and-skillful restoration, and careful storage. The original tuning machines have been replaced with modern Gotoh machines. There is an area on the reverse of the body that has been filled with a section of mahogany, as seen in photos. There is an area on the lower bout on the edge of the body that has been repairded also, yet the repair is nearly-undetectable to the eye or to the touch. Upon arrival at our shop, we found that the bridge has a significant crack, which has been professionally repaired at Keith Holland Guitars by Jaxson Cottrell. There is a minor-yet-stable crack on the side of the bod in the waist area which has been deemed as stable by our techs. There are numerous scratches and minor dents throughout the instrument and the pickguard shows moderate pickwear. Should you require more photos of the condition of this instrument, please reach out to us via Reverb or directly at the shop. This package includes a period-correct hard case. This instrument recently underwent a professional setup and has been strung with a fresh set of Curt Mangan 12's.
