ABOUT:

Inspired by the the Sunn Model T ("Holy Grail" of Doom guitar amps), this small but mighty unit captures the Model T's signature tones by exactly replicating its preamp section. This unit can be run in "Preamp Mode" (where no speaker load is necessary) OR switch to "Amp" mode and run it as a powerful 10 Watt dual (6V6) ultra-linear output section driving up to a full stack of speaker cabs. Perfect size for bedroom jamming, studio recording, and even driving massive power amps. Need more watts? Simply run the Thylacine as a tube Preamp only and connect the line out(s) to any power amp of your choice, computer audio interfaces, and even run it into the "Effects Return" of many other guitar amps to use that amp‘s power section. Running the Thylacine in "Amp" mode will allow you to not only drive speaker cabs, but you can also run the preamp line outs to other devices like power amps, mixing boards, audio interfaces at the same time!

• Tame/Fierce 2 way switch - Fierce is the STOCK Model T preamp setting, Tame allows you to 'Tame' the stock sound by reducing gain slightly, tightening up bottom end, and increasing clean headroom (makes it sound a little more "Marshall-like")
• Single input dual channel with 3-way switch - Brite, Normal , or BOTH channels jumpered
• Out jack - run your raw guitar signal to another device like another amp or DI box
• Front Controls: Brite Vol, Normal Vol, Bass, Mid Range, Treble, Presence, Master Vol
• 3 Way Power Switch - OFF, Standby, ON
• Back Controls - Impedance Switch 4, 8, & 16 Ohms, 2 Speaker Outputs, 2 Preamp Line Outs with Line Level control - dial in exactly how much line out signal is going to other devices like power amps, audio interfaces, Effects Return of other amps, etc.

What styles can I play with the Thylacine?

If you've ever played or heard a Sunn Model T amp in action, you'll immediately recognize its signature fuzzy all-tube gain characteristics. This makes the amp one of the greatest pedal platform amps of all time in my opinion because of how well this gain structure blends with so many different pedals. Put a fuzz pedal of your choice in front of the amp and it becomes an insanely powerful Doom machine. With a tighter boost pedal like a Tube Screamer, Klon, or other boost and you can play anything from rock to thrash and even death metal styles. I feel like the magic of the Model T comes from it's ability to take so many different pedals so well by combining it with its own thick fuzzy tube breakup and its well-crafted tone stack (EQ) preamp section. This amp shines as a rock, metal, and doom machine but it also cleans up very nicely as well when dialing the gain back.
