About This Listing
Up for grabs is my 1957 Gibson Les Paul Special
I'm the second owner of this special. Ill start of by saying this is everything you'd expect. Nice full but not too fat 57 neck. The tone from the all original p90's rival any PAF guitar. Fat and full with the right amount of twang. I'm only selling it because I favor my 1957 Jr and this Special sits in the case un-played. It needs to be with some one who will play it often.
It was re fretted 7 years ago by Holger Noltzel of Komet amps. It is an impeccable job. No lacquer checking or binding cracks developed during the re fret process. The tuners are original, but the buttons have been replaced with real 50s Kluson buttons. All else is 100% original. You will notice this one has an over-sized jack plate. There are no extra holes, or repairs under there. There is one small nick that looks like it could possible be a pilot hole. The guitar has been black lit, and examined by a several people that have seen a good number of these guitars, and no one seems to be able to explain the over sized jack plate. It also comes in a circa late 1990's brown Gibson case.
Would be willing to trade towards a mid 60s Stratocaster
