13-16-22(x2)-14x5. Very good player’s condition. 90% original. Wrap is down tight. Bearing edges are smooth and solid. Sounds incredible.
Some cosmetic nicks, scuffs, and scratches as expected for a well loved kit that is over sixty years old. Still, it presents beautifully and gets compliments at every gig. The Starlite sparkle is unique but fits with any style. Looks unbelievable on stage.
Comes with second kick drum with replacement round badge hoops from the same era in silver sparkle. The silver compliments the Starlite nicely. Original kick drum has some heartbreaking extra holes, but it still plays without issue and sounds incredible. Wrap is missing from original kick drum hoops.
Playing the snare drum can make a grown man cry. A true joy. Tight and punchy with plenty of presence and attack. Microsensitive strainer works but only in the sweet spot. If you tighten a bit too much, then the snares won’t turn off completely. There is also a screw missing from the clamp that holds the snare strings. I’ve learned to live with it, but replacement or reproduction strainers are widely available.
Fred Gretsch signature on inside of snare drum is presumed authentic, but this cannot be guaranteed. The asking price reflects the value of the drums only. No premium has been added for the signature. Just a cool bonus!
Comes with new clear Vintage Emperors and Evans G1s on both toms. New Vintage coated emperor on the snare. New Aquarian vintage on 1 kick, and a used but decent coated ambassador on the other kick.
These drums are priced to sell at $3000.
