1936 Dobro M-32 Gold Roundneck fiddle edge resonator

Here is a vintage 1936 Dobro M-32 model in factory Gold finish.   These models were offered in two different neck profiles: square or round.   The square models were only playable as a slide guitar while the round neck versions could be played conventionally or set up for slide with a slide nut adapter.   This one is the more desirable version- the round neck.  It has had the slide nut adapter added and so it is currently set up for slide.  The neck angle reflects this as well-so some sort of work will be necessary if you with to return it to conventional guitar.   The action is typically high-see photos. A Lawrence pickup has been added and it functions well.  It has a volume knob on the side of the pickup for easy adjustability.  The body is in good shape and very solid.  The treble-side sound hole has had the cross-bars removed;  that HAS to be a great story lost to time, unfortunately.  The finish is worn in areas-see photos.  The guitar has a great patina and just screams vintage.  The output cord has been routed through the side of the lower bout-see photos.   The tone is a typical Dobro steel resonator sound.  It is classic and lots of fun to play.
