Up for sale today is an incredibly rare near mint early '70's Univox 1561. This amp was made in Japan with incredibly high quality parts, huge transformers and a quad of 6550 tubes. This amp was made in such low quantities that they didn't bother stamping a new chassis for it or actually put it in any of the catalogs. The circuit itself is akin to a Marshall Plexi Superlead/Superbass with a few value changes. It has two channels, Bass, middle, treble and presence controls and a high boost pull pot on channel two. It is switchable between 8, 4, and 2 ohms, and has 4 speaker outputs. The amp is rated for 150 watts and can definitely hold its own even with one cab. It's actually not that far away from a Sunn Model T.
The amp has been recently gone through and been recapped, retubed and had any out of value parts replaced. It sounds fantastic and looks just as good! Cosmetically, this amp is as close to mint condition as you will ever see for a 40+ year old amp.
