In Very Good to Excellent Condition. - Undoubtedly one of the finest guitars ever made. This guitar has aged for 45 years and this has only made the sound even better now than when it was new and it was simply amazing when it was new. Perfect setup, low action and intonation is right on. The action and playabilty is comparable to my Taylor Builders Edition 814CE. This guitar sounds great! A recording engineer in Abilene said that it was the best sounding acoustical guitar he had ever heard. Of course, each person has their own particular sound that they love. The original hardshell case is included.
 
The DY50 Is A Fantastic Guitar. - It is a gorgeous instrument handmade with the finest and the rarest of materials with amazing playability and a piano like tone that is extremely rich. The cedar top has the tightest grain ever and the Yairi DY50 will virtually dance in your hands as the solid cedar top rings out with the authority of a grand piano. It was handmade by Japan's premier luthier Kazuo Yairi and released in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the company. Hit an open A on the DY50 and there is so much richness and sustain that you can have it sampled to create a Fishman Aura patch. It is a fantastic lead and blues instrument, its frets are just the right size for serious and intense playing, it is great with down tunings and it sounds particularly good with finger picks. I only play finger style guitar and do not use picks.

I bought this guitar new in 1979 and was only played at home and at my guitar store. I did not use this guitar for my playing jobs because the wood on this guitar is so beautiful.

45 Years Of Wear Issues - This is a one owner guitar. Since 1979, I have been a professional guitarist. This guitar never been used on stage. There are some minor surface blemishes that are not visible from 3 or 4 feet away. I played this guitar for pleasure since it is such a beautiful guitar. I have over 20 guitars and unfortunately there is not enough time to play them all. Once you hear how amazing this guitar sounds you will not care about minor surface blemishes!
