Gibson Custom Order Hand-Picked Top ‘58 Reissue Stunning Quilty Flame & Horizontal Figuring w/Case Candy & Original Lifton Case - Custom Shop
A stunning hand-picked top and the nicest I have seen on any 58 Custom Shop. It has beautiful horizontal quilting and flame (tiger stripes) and vertical figuring that has to be seen to be appreciated. The neck is the perfect size and other than some light indents and a few marks on the headstock (see photos), this beauty is clean and certainly unique. I would put it as very good to excellent. It has a well done VOS finish on the hardware, but the top retains a nice gloss and the binding has the ink bleed very similar to my vintage Standard. I would put this guitar up against any of my R9s in looks, tone and overall playability. Includes all the case candy and the Lifton case is still like new and has the Custom Shop hang tag. This was a special order and is a hard one to let go. This hot tamale weighs in at a fit and trim 8lbs, 9ozs.
