Weikert Wooden Flute w/Ivory Head Joint
Weikert was a German flute maker in the 1800's. This flute has 12 nickel silver keys on its middle and lower joints. Pads need complete replacement. Headjoint comes in two pieces: a small wooden barrel (cracked and wound with string), and an ivory head joint with a brass insert. The ivory headjoint is stamped with "WEIKERT" and "EXTRA QUAL:" just below. There is a crack that runs the full length. The ivory is 5 1/2 inches in length and an inch in diameter. Comes in its original wooden case that has lost its cloth hinge.
There is a Weikert flute in the National Music Museum that is very similar to this one.
