Early version of the Getzen ETERNA SEVERINSEN model used by popular music giant Doc SEVERINSEN in his heyday
[overview]
Götzen B♭ trumpet, ETERNA Severinsen model. 120mm double yellow brass bell. 460'ML bore. No. 1 spring type trigger type. Movable finger hook for No. 3 insertion and removal tube. Silver plated finish. Instrument weight 1043 grams. Made in 1970. Comes with hard case.
[situation]
Traces of re-soldering of the bell front diagonal support, the blaze connecting the bell base and the No. 1 insertion/extraction tube (mouth pipe side). Corrected small dents on the bell rear curve angle, bell stem, and bell flare. The plating is peeling off on both sides of the valve casing and below the center of the bell (the part where your left hand touches). The inside of the pipe has been cleaned, soft parts have been replaced, and various parts have been maintained and inspected. There are no problems with valve airtightness or action.
[Characteristics/Attractiveness]
This Getzen was a favorite of Doc Severinsen, who performed live for 30 years (1962-1992) with the "Tonight Show Band" (big band) on the American NBC entertainment program "Tonight Show." Eterna Severinsen model. Although it is by no means a heavy type, it does not have the light feel of Benge, Schilke, or Calicchio, which were popular at the same time, but has a strong sound with a solid response and a crisp "bell ringing". It's attractive.
