Silvertone Artist Archtop Guitar
1941-1943 Blonde
This wonderful sounding well-made wartime archtop boasts binding everywhere, a curly maple back, sides and neck, a rosewood fingerboard with "shark fin inlay" and a rosewood bridge. The ebony veneer and pearl inlay on the headstock show a little ware from the 77 years "breaking in". A custom pickguard was fabricated to hold the volume and tone controls as the original was cheap and didn't hold up.
I have too many guitars once again and need to trim the collection before the wife officially freaks out. I truly hate to let this one go as it's a very unique and handsome old feller that turns heads and peaks interest anywhere it goes. I've never seen another one like it and silvertone only made it for 2 years so the chances of ever seeing another one again are extremely rare.
I had a master luthier, Randy Hughes in Asheville NC, replace the nut with bone as well as a fret job, Benedetto pickup install, and a nice Setup. The old 17.5-inch wide jazz box stays in tune great with its kluson tuners. and comes with a fresh case that fits like a glove.
Thanks for checking it out and let me know if you have any question about it.
Cheers.
