“Mod squad" is a series of guitars and basses where we have allowed ourselves to have fun with and take liberties with the established concepts, not bothering about the perfect finish or using this or that expensive part. We like the weird and unexpected and hope you will too!
This guitar started out as a Hondo ll strat made by Samick in Korea back in the 70’s but has been turned into a breezy Tiki-caster with its exposed laminate wood contrasting the cool ocean turquoise refinish. A Tele pickup and bridge has been added to give it some extra twang and spank.
The 12” radius maple neck with maple cap, has a C -shape, with a slightly beefy feel.
The frets have some wear to them but plays fine.
3-way toggle switch: bridge - bridge+neck - neck
master volume and master tone
The 2nd tone knob acting like a master blend knob for the middle pickup, giving when activated: bridge+middle - all three pickups - middle+neck
