Fender Deluxe Nashville Tele, candy apple red, made in Mexico 2000. Do you like Teles? Do you like Strats? Can't decide which way to go? Porque no los dos? The Nashville Tele takes the trad Tele setup, with the string-through body and fixed bridge and two single coils, and adds a Strat pickup in the middle and a five-way switch to up the level of skullduggery exponentially. Those new in-between tones are Strat-ish, but a little more forthright in brightness and shimmery top end, owing to the Tele-style appointments. It's fun, there's heaps there to play with, and some of those tones would sit perfectly on the top of a mix in a country or blues setting. The neck is comfy and agreeable and the hardware all works nicely; it's easy to play overall. The tort-on-red look is a favourite of mine: I reckon that hits different and has a certain snarky class to it. High fives for the Telestraster.
