Unique 1989 Signature Guitar Co. Guy Pratt | Alembic John Entwistle Ox Style Betsy 80s Pointy Headstock bass

One of a kind

Made in Canada circa 1989 by Signature Guitar Company, a short lived company who produced only 500 high end quality guitars between 1987 and 1990. Made famous by Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson.

This one (number 0001) is a one of a kind instrument offered to Guy Pratt (Pink Floyd, Madonna, Michaël Jackson). 

Founded by Russ Heinl, Signature Guitars Co. was called that way because, as an option, you could order one directly from the company and have your name embedded in a mother of pearl inlay on the 12th fret.

Fantastic neck featuring ebony board.
Beautiful carved flamed maple top in trans blue finish typical from the late 80s early 90s.
Perfectly balanced instrument.
Very clear, rich, warm and powerful sounds thanks to the custom Signatures Heinl active electronics and precision / Jazz pickups similar to EMGs. It reminds me of Alembic sound in the both pickups position.

One tiny chip on the headstock.
Comes with the original flight case.

From the founder Russ Heinl: « The Pink Floyd Momentary Lapse of Reason rehearsals lasted about 6 weeks and were in Toronto where they rented an Air Canada hanger for their practices. Since I was involved with the band I was down there virtually every night watching how it was coming together. I do recall Guy did play the bass on stage during those times so safe to say did he played it on stage with Pink Floyd. »
