1983 Strings & Things Bluesmaster, made in Memphis USA in the Strings and Things shop lead by (ex Schecter employee) Tom Keckler,from the early days when they were hand assembled in the custom shop, before they became mass produced and renamed St. Blues in 1984.
<<In 1978, Keckler joined Tom Anderson and David Schecter out in California to turn Schecter Guitar Research from a parts supplier to a guitar company. But anyone who’s ever lived in Memphis knows you can’t stay away long and in 1983 he came home to continue his guitar work, and joined the guys at Strings and Things to form, Saint Blues Guitar Workshop in 1984>>
in 1983 the Strings & Things Bluesmasters were Hot guitars that only a few Rock stars in the know were picking up: Eric Clapton owned TWO of them (two prototypes of the Eric Clapton model were completed and shipped to him in England in April 1983, Billy Squire was another user that played them on MTV videos, Joe Walsh, Bono from U2, Buck Dharma from Blue Oyster Cult, Glen Fry from the Eagles, Jeff Carlisi, Donnie Van Zant and Don Barne from 38 Special, even Billy Gibbons owned one. The next year, in 1984, they became mass produced under the name Saint Blues, and made more widely available to common folks.
This 1983 Strings and Things Bluesmaster is from the early famous rock star days. This guitar is KILLER, serial number #0494, very beautiful figured Ash and Cherry Sunburst, super nice condition, replaced tuners and Dimarzio double cream anniversary PAF humbuckers with split coil for each pickup on the volume and tone pots, yield lots of great tones. plays very easy, neck feels great, guitar is light, a cross between a light strat, a maple neck tele, and a 59 Les Paul. so cute. so unique. stands out in a crowd.
