Formanta EMS-01+MIDI - Polivoks killer!+VIDEO

Formanta EMS-01 is a vintage Soviet analog  synthesizer, was produced in the USSR in the late 80s on the same Formanta factory as the legendary Polivoks. 

In its original form EMS-01 (see the last picture) is combined with organ and has two manuals, the dimensions are very large and it’s also too heavy to ship with standard mail services… Probably because of its weight and dimensions this synth is still not very well known in the West, unlike the P-vox.

But this chopped version is much more ergonomic and lighter then a full one. 

we cut off the lower manual and the organ part to make the instrument more compact, the synth part retains all its functions. Also the chopped version can be shipped worldwide for a reasonable price

This is a monophonic with two oscillators. Its sound can be characterized as a very dense, fat and possibly aggressive. In a certain sense, we can say that this is a “Polivoks on steroids”

• The synthesizer is fully serviced, all the electrolytes and the potentiometers have been replaced
• PSU is transformer based and supports 110 and 220 Volts
