Gibson Les Paul (SG) Custom Historic Reissue 2004 Historic Makeovers - Polaris White Nitro

For sale by original owner is a 2004 Gibson Les Paul Custom Reissue from the Gibson Custom Shop. The guitar recently received the Historic Makeovers Standard package preserving the ebony fingerboard and adding the vibrola.

This instrument has been part of a collection that is being sold down to finance a vintage instrument. There are no issues with the guitar or its playability. The makeover restored the finish, which had yellowed with age. The guitar has never been gigged, and has been stored and lightly played in a smoke-free, temperature-controlled studio.

Gold hardware (along with everything else) is original apart from the authentic Maestro Vibrola in matching gold that was added by HM, sourced from Dan at MojoAxe. Included is the "vibro stopping kit" to lock down the movement. The post holes for the ABR-1 bridge were retained allowing the mod to be reversed, and the original gold bridge and posts are included. The vibrato has the added benefit of eliminating neck dive. Even with the added hardware, the guitar weighs in at 8.6 lbs.

Guitar has been refinished in a authentic Polaris white lacquer, with checking to age the finish, but no additional relic-ing (i.e., no scratches or dents). A photo of the pre-makeover guitar is included (last). All HM photos of the process are available to the buyer.
