IMPORTANT NOTE TO BUYERS: Some sellers tag or even advertise their guitars as a Takamine TC132sc when in fact they are not. When perusing guitars be careful that you don't bid on anything but an actual TC132sc. Many of the guitars you may see are when looking are actually EC, EP or CD 132's which are inferior instruments in everyway including tone, all over quality, finish work, etc. Having said all that, this is the real deal, top of the line Takamine cutaway, classical guitar with electronics. The others mentioned do not have the "cool tube" preamp system which in my opinion is what makes the TC132sc special. I've had ones with the Fishman Prefix system which is good but nowhere near the Cool Tube electronics which is the best reason to buy a Takamine TC132sc if you are wanting a rich, vibrant tone. This guitar is in excellent, gorgeous condition with no notable scratches, dents, dings or cracks. I'd rate it mint but like all guitars, even new ones, there are a few very slight hairline scratches and swirl common to natural guitar finishes and invariably there is a buyer out there with a microscope looking to complain. The instrument comes with the standard, plushly lined hardshell Takamine case, also in excellent condition. New ones sell for $1949, some with shipping costs. You can get this near perfect guitar for hundreds less and I guarantee, in this price range there's nothing better in an acoustic-electric nylon string guitar. Here's some info off the Takamine website:
The TC132SC is handcrafted in our pro series facility that has been building precision quality instruments over five decades.
This nylon string classical guitar pays homage to traditional classical instruments and follows closely to the original drawings of Antonio Torres. It is the first choice of performing classical latin and jazz musicians looking for pure nylon string tone at amplified volume levels. The solid cedar top produces a warm full tone with plenty of dynamic range. The solid rosewood back aids in the projection and enhances the sonic brilliance of the instruments. Gloss natural finish provides durability and adds to the beauty of the guitar. The mahogany neck features a dual action truss rod, which keeps the guitar playing perfectly in any environment.
Includes Takamine’s proprietary CTP-3 Cool Tube™ preamp system. The dual-channel CTP-3 provides low-voltage tube tone, variable from bright and brilliant to thick and warm, three band EQ with semi-parametric midrange, auxiliary input and volume (for use when a second pickup is added), and an onboard chromatic tuner.
