Had this for a few years now, little sad to see it go but am funding a new purchase. Nice thick neck, pick up sounds amazing, has original case (a little beaten up)...Ship in US only
Made by Valco in 1959 under the Supro name, one often reserved for less expensive, lower build quality Valco products, this Super, stands at 33,5 inches with 20 frets and a solid body build. A solid-body build means the instrument relies on the magnetic pickup to produce sound rather than a soundbox. In 1959 Valco adapted new designs for some of its models leading to the cutaway style of the Super Single.
The guitar also features a volume and tone control as well as a tone switch to adjust the volume, treble, and higher frequencies of the guitar respectively. Despite the lower build quality, a fan favourite spec of the Supro guitars seems to be the pickups of Ralph Keller. In the case of the Super Single, that is the single coil Super Power Alnico pickup.
