They came down from Ibanez, Mt. Olympus. Prometheus, Heracles, Hydra, and, of course, Zeus. The deities of the Ibanez pantheon all gathered around. Feeling like David without a sling shot, the gods stared, although they were not unchallenged, they remained undefeated.

What was in question? The paint, the back plate, the pickups, etc., etc. Zeus exclaims that the paint cannot be original; it's too shiny. As I explained to Zeus and his minister of war, Ares, that I believe they are in era, I was met with resistance as Zeus bellowed silence or I would be vanquished to the kingdom of the dead to the bowels of the underworld and the mercy of Hades.

Before my exodus to the underworld, let me present my case to you. At first, I called this color Five Alarm Red, but after further evidence, I believe I was in era. I removed the neck plate, back plate, pickup cavity plate, and pickup only to discover a vibrant pink. The gods forewarned me that this color can morph into many different shades when exposed to the sun. As for the pickups? Ibanez DiMarzio single coils and an unmarked DiMarzio in the bridge. The bridge pickup looks vintage, correct. As you can see in the Zapruder film down below in exhibits A through D, the original untainted body color and appropriate body markings are revealed.

As for the guitar itself, why not? These 540R DiMarzio-made pickups sound like a surprised victim screams, running from a pit bull unhinged. The neck? Savage. The Edge Tremolo? Like an aerialist in Cirque du Soleil, and the condition? Listed as very good. Meaning, well, this is an 80s metal guitar, and we have crackle in the finish here and there and general ware, but nothing that takes away from your surfing with the alien experience. Setup? Yes, people, from the artist known as Dion.

"Lee, look at the price, bro." I know, but if you buy a sunburst vintage strat, you can't expect to buy a shoreline gold one for the same amount, can you?

In closing, I presented my case and stood corrected. What's the alternative? Yeah, the bowls of the underworld and departed souls. Euripides, glad you're here and say who? "Talk sense to a fool, and he calls you foolish." Not I. I appreciate getting called out; it makes me the wiser. To the Ibanez Museum. Thank you, and my bad.
