Yamaha - Vinnie Colaiuta's 24"x16" Recording Custom Bass Drum Shell and Hoops Only. 1980s - Cherrywood Lacquer Finish
This bass drum was part of a large set of Vinnie Colaiuta's Yamaha Recording Custom drums that go back to the 1980s. We acquired the set from his tech after Vinnie switched to Gretsch drums. We sold the set less this extra bass drum that looks like many of it's parts were "borrowed' at some point. The drum is missing all the tension rods, claws, bass drum spurs and heads. Only the shell, hoops and the hardware visible in the photos remain. One of the hoops was cracked and has been glue repaired (see photos below). No other notable issues.
This is a great drum, that deserves restoring and being put back in action. Here's a rare opportunity to get your hands on a drum that was owned and used by one of the greatest drummers of our time.
