For sale is a beautiful Toshiba SN-1632, also known as the Type E which was made in 1948! This microphone is a close copy of the RCA 74-A and it sounds incredible. Inside, there is a newly installed ribbon by Cole down in Tennesse and an upgraded transformer, the Lundahl LL2912! Technically speaking, it will be extremely hard to beat this microphone if you want a larger than life sound.

The bass is big and deep, and the treble is there too, you would think this is a great sounding modern microphone! Compared to the 74-A & B, this microphone has a thicker bass response, so it will sound a lot more beefy in that department. Often times Toshiba took legendary RCA microphones and made improvements on them while taking great inspiration from them at the very same time. If you like RCA microphones, you'll like this one without a doubt.

This microphone is well-built, extremely heavy and is truly designed to last, which is the great thing about these older ribbon mics. The paint and microphone do have some wear and tear throughout the years but that is to be expected. The last thing I would like to mention/say is I doubt this microphone sounded better out of the factory, if you like deep bass... you'll love this mic!
