TEAC A-2050 70s - Wood/metal

TEAC A-2050 Bi-directional record & playback with auto reverse reel to reel tape deck. Unit would work just fine, IF the rubber tires inside werent dryrotted, hard and brittle. It is in need of all 4 of the rubber wheels replaced. They are pretty dry and hardened (they are 50+ years old) so it tries to play, but most of the time it will just sit there and do nothing at all, or barely turn for a second and stop again because it's on a hard, dry, no traction spot again.. FF/RW work but they are also weak and will sometimes barely turn. It NEEDS new rubber wheels inside. These units have 3 speeds(1-7/8", 3-3/4", 7-1/2" IPS) instead of only 2 speeds(3-3/4" & 7-1/2" IPS) like most other machines making it a much more desirable unit. Also, not only does it play your tapes in both forward and reverse(side A/Side B), but it RECORDS in both directions as well and has Auto reverse for both play and recording modes. Most other units only record on side A, you have to flip/swap the reels to record on side B.Thus, it is a very highly desired reel to reel tape deck. It needs some work but nothing that can't be done. The results will be that you will have one heck of an amazingly versatile unit for decades to come. I was going to refurbish this unit and keep it as a 2nd unit(my personal unit is an identical one in mint condition), so I've decided to just sell this one instead of letting it just sit around until I can get around to working on it myself. It also needs some attention to most of the output, line in, mic in knobs as they turn forever and don't reach a stopnpoint, so they may need replaced or repaired, or simply tightened(I have not looked into this issue at all so I dont know exactly what it'll need done). My loss is your gain. Sold as is, for parts or repair.
