DESCRIPTION

This is a great-sounding 1959 Slingerland 7" deep x 14" diameter snare drum in fantastic, fully functional overall condition. This drum features a mahogany shell with maple re-rings, single-flange hoops with rim clips, 8-lug design, and blue/silver duco finish. The lugs, backing screws, strainer, butt, rims, clips, tension rods, and snare wires appear to be original. Heads and snare cord have been recently replaced. Shell is in-round with no signs of warpage or exposure to moisture. Interior is extremely clean and is ink-stamped with a large M and a clear FEB 23 1959 date. Bearing edges are in good shape with only a few minor rough spots here and there, primarily on the reso side. Strainer functions as designed.

As a vintage instrument that's over 60 years old, expect to find typical signs of age-appropriate handling, use, and storage, including checked paint with a few minor chips and dings, light corrosion and some chrome peeling on some of the hardware (the worst of which is on the butt plate), and some general scuffs, scratches, fingerprints, and a bit of dust/dirt in spots.
