Variax Guitar Power Supply VGP-1

The VGP-1 is a new, custom-built power unit for Line6 Variax guitars. It is similar in function to the Line6 XPS-Mini. It provides 7.5Vdc through a TRS Cable (not included) to the 1/4" jack of any model of Variax. Powered by a 12Vdc AC Adapter (or an optional Battery Pack), it provides stable, sustainable power to your Variax. Housed in an enclosure similar to many pedals, the VGP-1 can be easily incorporated into your setup.

Constructed of all-new parts, the VGP-1 incorporates features not found in the OEM XPS units. More powerful, it won't give you intermittent results with some models (300 in particular) that like more power. It is compatible with every version of the Variax ever made by Line6 (excepting any custom wiring that may have been done later by non-OEM technicians). Simply put, if an XPS unit will work with your Variax, the VGP-1 will work better!

This is not simply diodes in series or some other low-tech method. The VGP-1 incorporates Integrated Circuit technology to regulate and control power to the Variax. Also, we didn't go with a pedalboard source for power to the AGP-1, because many pedalboard supplies (9Vdc) don't source enough power to keep your Variax stable.

The package consists of the VGP-1 and AC Source only, plus a User's Guide that details the operation and connection. Your current TRS and TS cables will work with the VGP-1, and that's all you need to get stable power to your Variax for gigs and extended sets.

The VGP-1 has been tested extensively, and as options, a Battery Pack and short cables have been used to create a wireless setup. This is explained in the addendum to the User's Guide that you receive with this purchase.
