About this listing
1979 Stratocaster purchased in Stockholm, Sweden, in September 2022. Completely original except for the tremolo system (replaced with a Fender Vintage narrow unit). The threaded hole in the original tremolo block was too worn to securely hold the tremolo arm, which is why I opted for a newer replacement. The original pickups sounded lifeless and cold, so I installed a set of Fender Custom Shop Texas Specials. The neck was refinished with a satin lacquer for improved playing comfort, refretted with jumbo frets (0.039" height, 0.084" width), and re-radiused to 9.5" (from the original 7.25") to prevent fretting out during bends. This work was carried out by famous Guitare Garage in Paris in May 2023.All electronics are original (see photos). The potentiometers operate smoothly with no scratchiness, and the five-way selector switch works perfectly, with no crackling or intermittent noise. There are no significant dings, dents, or major cosmetic blemishes to note—just some light natural wear and patina consistent with the guitar's age (see the photo taken in front of the window). The guitar weighs 3.9 kg (8.6 lbs), which is relatively light for a late-1970s Stratocaster.SpecsBody: AshColor: BlackNeck: MapleRadius: 7.25Headstock: Large headstockFretboard: MapleTrussrod: BulletFrets: 21Neck plate: 3-boltTuners: Fender “F”- stylePickguard: Black, 3-ply BWBPickup measurements:Bridge: 5.47Neck: 5.69Controls: 1-vol, 2-tone and 5-way switchWeight: 3.9kgNeck specs:Neck profile: C-shapeNutwidth: 40.99mm / 1.614”Thickness at first fret:21.51mm / 0.886”(Measured from the back of the neck to the top of the fretboard.)Width at 12th fret:50.94mm / 2.005”Neck thickness at 12th fret:23.70mm / 0.933”
