This concert instrument built by Luigi Locatto offers qualities that are exquisite in sound and craftsmanship. An Italian guitar that is an absolute gem with a wide range of musical colors and dynamics. A beautifully clear and elegant voice. The overall clarity, harmonic voicing, balance, and musical projection are excellent. The instrument is fitted with gorgeous Alessi tuning machines (historical model) from Italy. Playability of this instrument is superb. Luigi Locatto's instruments are played by a large number of concert artists and have been used on several recordings, most notably the Naxos release of Castelnuovo-Tedesco's works by Lorenzo Micheli (winner of GFA 1999), and of Shin-ichi Fukuda's 2007 recording of Barrios and Villa-Lobos for Meister Music.

There is an excellent on-line article that includes an interview with Luigi Locatta in the Orfeo Magazine #6 Autumn 2015 36-45 by Alberto Martinez.

This instrument remains in excellent playing condition showing only some very light wear and no damage or repair. The very thin finish shows some small finger marks to the top below the soundhole and a few slight fingernail dings overall, but no major wear. The back and sides are superb with nominal checking in the finish, as would be expected.
