The new Bosphorus Cymbals Havana Series are incredibly thin, and all shaped with unique profiles and edges. They can be played with sticks, or hands.

Bosphorus (Istanbul Bogazi) is the winding strait separating Europe and Asia running through Istanbul, Turkey. It is along these banks that our cymbals are crafted. Beginning with an alloy that is from an ancient fromula passed down by first generation cymbal smiths, the raw metal is molten to a liquid state.

The raw cymbal is now ready for the hammering process which will define its ultimate sound. Each and every cymbal is hand-hammered by our Master cymbal crafters until the correct tone and clarity is reached. The importance of the hammering process cannot be overstated....it is a sound that no machine can reproduce. Each cymbal recieves over 5,000 hammer blows before it moves to finishing!

After lathing, every cymbal is weighed and the grammage is hand-marked under the bell. The instrument is painted with the Bosphorus logo and then played by the Master crafters. After the cymbal is deemed acceptable, it is signed by the maker and it goes "from our hands to yours."

For centuries, Turkey has been the cradle for the art of hand-hammered cymbals. Bosphorus continues this tradition by offering the only full line of handmade cymbals. From our earthy, unlathed Turk Series through our polished, cutting Gold Series, each and every cymbal is crafted and hammered by our Master Cymbal Smiths. Every cymbal comes hand-marked with the Smith's signature and grammage and is truly "...from our hands to yours..."
