CARL'S CUSTOM GUITARS

Ahhhh, the long suffering quest for that PERFECT guitar tone! So many factors play into finding one's own signature sound, but there's one thing that we all agree on: guitar amps sound best when turned up LOUD! That is when we really start to hear all the richest harmonic overtones and feel the most dynamic response from the power tubes, in a perfect world we would always be able to run our amps wide open but sadly such is not the case so we compromise and compensate and no matter WHAT it never sounds the same as that CRANKED amplifier...well, compromise no more, Carl's Custom Guitar's Speaker Soak allows you to dial in your favorite high volume tones and then attenuate the volume (without losing that great tone!) before it hits the speakers, all the way down to safe "bedroom" volumes if need be, simply insert this device between your amplifier's speaker output and the speaker itself (out from amp's speaker output into IN on the Speaker Soak, OUT from Speaker Soak to the speaker using speaker cables) turn the Speaker Soak up all the way, dial in your favorite high volume sound and then rolllllllll back the volume on the Speaker Soak, preserving all that rich tone without deafening your bandmates (or driving your significant other/neighbors crazy!), a must have for any guitarist who does not have the luxury of being to run their rig at high volume all the time!

Carl's Custom Guitars have been in business making handcrafted guitar related products since 1998, all of my items are made (by ME!) in the USA, I pride myself on my customer service and ALL of my items have a full moneyback satisfaction guarantee so there is absolutely nothing to risk here, buy the Soak, give it a shot and if its not your cup of tea simply send it back for a refund, doesn't get much better than that!

A few very important technical notes here: simply said that volume we are attenuating has to go somewhere, in this case is converted to heat which is dissipated in the Speaker Soaks design, that said it is quite normal for this device to get warm, it is not going to fry eggs or anything but basically the more volume you are attenuating the warmer it will be so just give it a little breathing room on top of your amp or whatnot (the Speaker Soak is just 2.25x3.5x4.5 inches), if it gets outright HOT then something is definitely wrong and you need to stop, turn off your amp and reaccess. For example I can run my 40 watt Hot Rod Deluxe through it for hours and the Speaker Soak will be a little warm to touch, this is normal. Do not use this device on amps over 50 watts and be SURE you match ohm rating of your Speaker Soak with that of your amplifier's output (in other words if your amps speaker output is 4 ohms get the 4 ohm version, 8 ohms get the 8 ohm Speaker Soak, if its 16 get the 16 etc), if you do not know what ohm level your amp puts out or how many watts it is try doing a Google search for your amp's specs, these things should not be overlooked.

People commonly ask if this device will harm the amp or shorten tube life etc, well basically as long as your amp is properly maintained in good working order and you use it in accordance with the guidelines I have listed here then no it will not harm your amp or shorten tube life any more than it would if you were running your amp at that more open volume level, amps are designed to be run loud at times so if you have a fully functional amp and you use this device responsibly you will have nothing to worry about, your tubes will have the same normal lifespan as they would have if the amp was running as the settings you dial in with the Speaker Soak.

Please note: if your amplifier has the speaker directly wired to the chassis (no speaker output jack with a speaker cable plugged into it running to the speaker) then you will need to slide those wires off the speaker terminals, add a 1/4 inch male plug to them (tip positive, barrel ground) and plug that into the "In" jack on the Soak, then go from the "Out" jack on the Soak back to the speaker with a similar speaker cable. Simple enough, but that said the vast majority of amps these days have an actual speaker output jack so this isnt even an issue...

Once again this device is NOT intended for amplifiers putting out more than 50 watts, it is not designed to handle that hot of a signal and attempting to do so could harm the Speaker Soak or even your amplifier, I will not be held responsible for what may happen if you do so please do not even attempt it, while it MAY very well work I am in no way encouraging you to do so and you would absolutely be doing it at YOUR OWN RISK, the last thing I want is anyone harming a device I worked hard to build and/or something they paid their own hard earned money for, consider yourself warned hehe! Unlock a whole new world of tones, I look forward to doing business with you, thank you -Carl
