The Newark St. Series Starfire VI semi-hollowbody electric guitar offers the feel and style of a popular 1960s icon with a touch of high-end class. The body is made from stunning AAA flamed maple. A pair of LB-1 "Little Bucker" pickups with their own tone and volume controls fine-tune your sound for a tone that is as distinct as the guitar's looks. And the Starfire VI offers the smooth bending and pitch control you'll only get from a great vibrato tailpiece. The Starfire VI is the uptown sibling of the Starfire line.
A dressed-up classic
Based on the Starfire from the '60s, this Guild Starfire VI semi-hollowbody electric guitar packs the intricacies that made the original a popular guitar during the rock revolution. The semi-hollowbody's arched AAA flamed maple top and back make for a seductive look and feel to the instrument. The open-back, vintage-style Grover Sta-Tite tuning machines recall the originals, but with the tuning stability of a modern guitar. And the individual tone and volume controls for each pickup and master volume knob let you dial in endless tonal shades.
Mahogany thinline construction
The semi-hollow thinline design of the Starfire VI blends the benefits of a solidbody and hollowbody electric guitar. The hollow wings offer more warmth and detail to your sound, while the centerblock helps fight feedback at loud performance volumes. The guitar's body is made of AAA flamed maple for an articulate tone. And the 3-piece maple/walnut/maple neck is ultra stable and adds attack with plenty of note fundamental to your sound. The Starfire VI blends the best of both worlds effortlessly.
LB-1 anti-hum pickups
The Guild Starfire VI is outfitted with a pair of hum-canceling LB-1 Little Bucker pickups. Originally designed in the 1960s, the Little Buckers were an alternative to single-coil pickups. The output sits somewhere between a single-coil and a vintage-style PAF humbucker. They offer more jangle than a PAF but a little more warmth than a traditional single-coil. Factor in the 3-way pickup selector, and you'll discover why players are loving the Starfire VI.
