Guitar has been well maintained and remains in perfect working condition. Guitar creates that beautiful beefy Gibson tone. My collection has grown a bit too large for my space, so I am having to make the tough decision of thinning the herd. Willing to answer any questions. Please feel free to reach out.

100% original condition and in perfect working order, with a warm Tobacco Sunburst gloss finish on the solid maple top. Made exclusively for the Japanese domestic market and rarely seen outside its country of origin, this Orville is an official Gibson-licensed guitar and a result of a partnership between Gibson USA and their Japanese distributor Yamano Gakki. Named after Gibson's founder, Orville Gibson, this discontinued Orville model was crafted at the Fujigen factory.

This guitar truly delivers everything you want in a good Les Paul, with a solid mahogany body and neck, two-piece maple cap, glued-in long tenon neck joint, and a pair of original nickel cover humbucker pickups. Crafted in the low-wind PAF mold, both humbuckers meter at just over 7k ohms, with great top end articulation and dynamic range. The pickups in this Orville translate the instrument's clear acoustic voice into a great array of tones, with a ripping bridge pickup that can deliver great chunk and a touch of compression. The neck pickup is glassy and smooth, offering both warmth and detail. The instrument is remarkably lightweight for a Les Paul at only 8lbs 6oz, professionally setup with 10-46 strings, low action, and spot-on intonation.

The mahogany neck has a comfortable medium C-shaped profile carve with just enough heft in the shoulders and a chunkier feel in the higher registers of the fretboard, measuring .840" deep at the 1st fret, graduating to .985" at the 12th. The original medium jumbo fretwire has ample meat and height, showing only light wear beneath the plain strings on frets 1-9. The guitar plays easily in every register with a straight neck and optimally adjusted truss rod. Matching traditional Gibson spec, the guitar features a 24 3/4“ scale length, and the nut measures 1 11/16" in width. The headstock has the correct "open book" shape and Orville pearloid inlay, complete with Kluson-style tuning machines with lightly greened tulip buttons.

All of the electronics work as they should, with individual Volume and Tone controls for each pickup, wired to a three-way pickup selector toggle. The plastics include gold speed knobs and cream pickup rings, with the hardware compliment of an ABR-1 bridge and stoptail combo for optimal stability and intonation, exhibiting uniform surface patina across the nickel plating. Cosmetic wear is limited some scattered dings and minor buckle wear across the back, with just a few small, shallow nicks on the smooth gloss neck profile finish.

This Orville is a classic example of Gibson-sanctioned Japanese craftsmanship, boasting the Les Paul's vital combination of tonewoods and a pair of impressive humbuckers to match.
