The PSS 570 is one of Yamaha's series of classic 2-operator FM digital synths based around the famous YM3812 sound-generating chip used in the Soundblaster soundcards of the late 80s/90s. It also features a separate chip for the drums. The 570 has become quite desirable for its very useable custom drummer features and classic nostalgic sounding presets- but primarily due to it's cool, easily editable FM synthesizer section that allows you to modify parameters of any of the presets, or create sounds from scratch, via sliders on the top right of the control panel. It punches well above it's weight- and in the right hands can really sound killer- it shines being run through external effects such as reverb, delay, and distortion. It is capable of much more than you'd expect and has a great old school lo-fi edge to it. It can also run on batteries, for some portable music sketching. Some people like to circuit bend these synths as well.
This one is in excellent overall condition with all function buttons working and keys all play just as they should. Cosmetically it is in very good condition with a few minor scuffs you'd expect on a used keyboard.
