RT Custom Digosonic 2018

This is a custom made, one of a kind RT Custom Archtop Hollowbody - handmade by the great Luthier Roy Toepper from Kalamazoo, MI. His RT Custom Guitars are individually designed. He makes only a handful of guitars each year. This Oliveburst green "Digosonic" as he named it, features a gorgeous olive green fade on a spruce top with deep maple golden brown figured maple back, sides and neck - his response to the "Blue Guitar" craze collection of the 2000's. The guitar is designed with a beautiful oval sound hole for resonance with one floating pickup (Kent Armstrong) afixed to the pickguard. The neck features a 3/16" center stripe of paduak, surrounded by the figured maple with gold Schaller heads. The guitar developed a couple hairline cracks in the top piece and wood pickguard due to being stored in an unheated environment for several months - there is some additional cracking at the neck joint but it does not effect the neck profile.

Specs: Body: 17"w at lower bout, 21"H, 3"D at sides, body constructed of figured maple (sides and back), Sitka spruce top, 4ply bindings around all edges, oval soundhole with rosette, body style is single Venetian (rounded) cutaway.
Neck: Full length neck, 25.5" scale length, constructed of figured maple, ebony fretboard, singleply binding. Headstock features decorative hardwood veneer on face and back, singleply binding around face. Bone nut, width at nut: 1.68", "C" profile, neck joins body at 14th fret. 2way adjustable truss rod, accessed at headstock.
Finish: Nitrocellulose lacquer, fabulous "OliveBurst" on top, deep amber tinting on back, sides and neck. Lacquer buffed to high gloss.
Hardware: Gold Schaller 16:1 tuning machines, Kent Armstrong gold floating humbucker mounted to fingerrest. Volume and tone controls mounted to fingerrest with small control knobs, input jack mounted to side.

Pickguard and tailpiece are constructed of figured hardwood, thumbwheel bridge made of ebony, with a bone saddle and gold thumbwheels.

The guitar needs some adjusting to suit the players' preference for an acoustic or hollowbody type tone, but it is one rare and gorgeous custom-made instrument. It comes with a custom hard shell case.
