Orville by Gibson / Hummingbird

“Orville” was launched from the 1980s to the late 1990s at the idea of a Japanese agency at the time.
Solid body is Fujigen / acoustic is Terada Musical Instruments and Gibson made in Japan by Japan's leading production factory is now available at an affordable price.
Even now, its high quality has many fans.

This time we will be introducing the 1991 Hummingbird model.
As you know, the original was released by Gibson in 1960 as a square shoulder model.
As mentioned in the specifications below, this individual is 645mm long scale.
Speaking of Hummingbird, it is well known that it is a medium scale, and DOVE is a long scale, but in fact, most Hummingbirds from the 1960s are long scale.
Even Murphy Lab's reissue model is made on a medium scale, so I wonder if Terada Musical Instruments was particular about it. . .

The sound is very different from the original.
If anything, I get the impression that it is similar to DOVE, including the scale.
The treble range is strong and the output is coherent, so the sound is easy to handle when passed through a microphone.
Although PU/preamplifiers are not particularly good at producing realistic sounds, you can experience the sound that you would hear at a live venue in the past, giving you a sense of the era.

This is a piece where you can feel the careful craftsmanship that is unique to Japanese-made products.
