Gibson L-4 CES Mahogany Archtop 1989 Vintage Sunburst.
Built March 10, 1989 and signed by the famous Gibson Jazz box builder James Hutchinson on the second inside f-hole sticker. The comfortable 16" body and the ergonomic 24 3/4" scale length give this guitar a buttery, easy playing feel. 1 11/16" nut width.

Though often compared to a ES-175, this model differs in that it features a solid carved Sitka spruce top, solid mahogany back and sides, mahogany neck, and an ebony fingeboard. Tonally, the wood choice gives this guitar a warm, rounded high end and a full, sweet midrange. The twin PAF humbuckers beautifully reproduce the subtleties of this solid topped instrument resulting in lucious amplified tone. Hardware includes an bigsby vibrato, a pair of gold PAF humbucking pickups, and a set of Gibson deluxe tuners.

This guitar was a special factory order to include the Bigsby tailpiece. There is some wear on the ebony fingerboard at the first three frets and also some wear on the neck side as shown but does not effect playing. Also a few nicks on the back of neck. Frets are in very good shape.

This L-4 CES has been well cared for with some general play scratches but has many more years of use.

- original Gibson deluxe custom hard-shell case with plush lining
- ebony fingerboard
- vintage sunburst
