Otherwise known as the Violin Bass or Beatle Bass the 500/1 Bass guitar has been produced by Hofner from 1956 up to the present day. Used, then and now, by a gentleman called Sir Paul McCartney.
Made in Germany this 1970 model is all original and is in really great condition considering it is almost 55 years old. The bass does have some minor marks on the body and a little play wear on the neck – see last 9 pictures.
The features of this ‘70 500/1 bass include Van Ghent “pyramid” tuners with plastic buttons, Gold Hofner lacquered headstock logo and of course the fabulous sounding Hofner Blade pickups. Comes complete with vintage violin bass hard shell case.
