1990 Gibson Thunderbird - Custom Blue Mist Metallic

For sale is a 1990 Gibson Thunderbird IV bass that I had refinished in a stunning one-of-a-kind blue mist metallic finish (similar to Fender's ice blue metallic).  The lengthy retrofit project included the following upgrades to the stock bass:
• The original black finish was professionally stripped and replaced with a remarkable blue mist metallic nitrocellulose lacquer finish
• The stock pickups have been replaced with a set of amazing Lollar Thunderbird pickups with chrome mounting rings
• The stock bridge has been replaced with a Babicz FCH 3-Point bridge in chrome
• The stock tuning pegs have been replaced by a set of Hipshot Ultralight (USA) tuners
• The stock knobs were replaced gold tophat knobs with knob pointers installed.
• Schaller strap lock posts (nickel) have been installed.

The bass is in very good overall condition.  The new finish has rippling along the 90-degree corners where the body wings connect with the neck-through design (see pictures).  There are two bumps in the finish near the volume/tone controls (see picture), that can likely be fixed via drop-fill.  The ebony fretboard is in great shape.  Peghead is firmly intact (no breaks or cracks).  The frets were levelled and dressed as part of the retrofit and are in excellent shape.  The truss rod is in excellent working order. Bass weighs approximately 9.6 pounds.

Bass will be shipped in the original brown Gibson Thunderbird case as shown, which while structurally sound has significant wear and tear (see pics). The two "flip" latches on the case function fine, but the middle locking latch is detached and hence non-functional.  Shipping in the case with the bass I will include the original stock pickups, tuning pegs, and 3-point bridge (which has a crack in it and is hence non-functional).

I hate to let this one go, but a bass this phenomenally beautiful, unique, and thunderous needs to be seen and heard more.
