2018 Martin DX-1AE solid Spruce top/Mahogany finish acoustic/electric dreadnought guitar in great condition, new strings, pro set up, low action, ready to play out of the box. Hooked up to a ToneRite for 100+ hours so you know it'll sound better than any other example of this model, this guitar kinda blew my mind--REALLY DOES SOUND LIKE A MARTIN.

Made in Mexico, the X series is Martin's answer to other company's moving to China for their budget end models. Read the reviews: after those who were skeptical about the materials (including me) actually played the guitars, they realized this was an absolutely valid way to produce a very D18-like guitar for about $1700 less.

Having a very good (scalloped brace) D18, I can attest to that: the only major differences between this and the D18 (aside from cosmetics) is that the D18 is lighter and louder. As for tone--VERY CLOSE. Specifically, this one has "that thing" in the bottom end that only Martins seems to have captured. There is simply no other guitar made anywhere, by anyone, out of anything, that's going to give you a Martin sound for anything close to what this guitar is offered at.

Fishman MX pickup with tone/volume control works great--plus, the jack is side-mounted, a big plus over endpin jack types. Ebony bridge pins with MOP studs. Low action; truss rod works great. Fast neck with a great feel makes this a dream for fingerpickers. Kick in with a pick and this can bang with the best.
